Dr. Janet K. Thompson was born in Southern Pines, NC to the late (Hugh O. Whitaker) and Wilma E. Whitaker.
She is married, has (5) adult children, a host of grandchildren, and great grands. She is the First Lady, an ordained minister, and leader of the Women’s Ministry, currently working on her own recording project, among many other hats that she wears at her church home Adonai Community Baptist Church, in the Southwest Philadelphia area of the city, where her husband Rev. Elvin Thompson is Pastor.
The radio ministry “The Potter’s Well of Hope”, I believe is one of the tools that the Lord is using in this troubled day and time to offer women prayer, encouragement, help, resources, and hope with “everyday” life challenges and situations we face as women. As we search out the truth and promises of “hope” that the Lord offers us from His Word, Janet is believing God for change with your present “seemingly” hopeless situation just as she trusted God with her mother’s “almost fatal” demise when she was a child, and God showed Himself faithful to her even then. Her desire is to encourage and challenge women to “trust” the Lord Jesus for “all things” and “everything” concerning their lives. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Dr. Janet has attended various Christian Biblical schools from 1995 to present (2015). She has received an Associates’ degree, (2) Bachelor of Arts degrees, a Master’s Degree, and very recently a Doctorate Degree, all in Theological Biblical Studies. She has attended these trainings and schools such as: Childhood Evangelism (training), Manna Bible Institute, Jameson Christian College, and Manna Bible “College” of Wilson, NC (Satellite Site) in Philadelphia, PA. She also attended Community College of Philadelphia, 1991-1992.
